About Illustrative Maps created by Rabinky Art:
The technique of oblique or birds-eye-view maps is not new – in fact this creative technique goes back to the middle 1600’s, well before photography and satellites. Yet this classic style remains one of the most effective ways to communicate architecture, scale and wayfinding all in one image.
Most of our clients want more than simple grid-style graphics. They want to present their campus or village with vitality and with 3D imagery – like we see it in real life. It’s the color, shapes and textures that come together which make your image and brand stand out.
Our role is to help our clients communicate those special relationships and architecture in a way that is innovative, factual, and fun to look at. We call this creative human wayfinding. Art and exploration should be fun, and that is why we also produce a fully interactive WebMap, which bridges the gap between static and dynamic wayfinding.
In today’s challenging media environment, it’s more important than ever to be able to leverage original art in print, web and other electronic mediums. That need is one important element that Rabinky Art offers as a solution provider. We create maps and wayfinding images using traditional hand crafted images, and then deliver the end product in state of the art digital formats. This strategy provides our clients with maximum flexibility to use their art no matter the need: marketing, wayfinding or brand building.
Rabinky Art also recognizes that you want to own your own art and that is part of our success story too. We want you to use your art today and tomorrow – and not be limited to a one-time use; therefore our clients own their own copyrights.
Principal Maria Rabinky:
Principal Maria Rabinky was born St. Petersburg, the cultural hub of Russia. As a youth, she studied classical art and obtained a dual Master's degree in both architecture and fine arts at the prestigious St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts. After the Academy, she honed her skills as an architect and museum set designer.
Trained as both a classical artist and architect, when Maria move to the U.S., she continued to work in watercolors, oils, pencil and ink, with an emphasis on architecture, still life, urban and country landscapes.
As an early adapter to emerging digital technologies, Maria has the rare mixture of a strong talent in the physical art as well as the electronic arts. As a mixed-media artist, she frequently merges both art forms to achieve the warmth of hand creations combined with the utility and flexibility of layers and PDF's needed for production and proofing.
