In addition to FORTIS, SKYE contract manufactures HeatWave™ brand point-of-use, electric instantaneous tankless water heaters. The new HeatWave models utilize a patented technology for heating water that has the potential of providing SKYE a significant competitive advantage over all other brands.
SKYE is also preparing to soon introduce another new line of point-of-use, electric instantaneous tankless water heaters under the Paradigm™ brand. Paradigm tankless point-of-use water heaters utilize yet another patented technology for heating water that SKYE believes will provide a significant competitive advantage. SKYE is currently working to commercialize this technology into a suite of products that can be used in homes across North America and Europe.

FORTIS brand high-quality, stainless steel, whole house tankless water heaters provide many benefits to homeowners and commercial operations including:
Continuous Hot Water – Tankless water heaters create unlimited amounts of hot water when needed. They do not have a tank to store hot water.
Saves Energy – Tankless water heaters heat water only when needed. This process eliminates “stand-by heat loss”, which is the heat energy continuously lost through the walls and pipes of traditional tank water heaters. Stand-by heat loss can range from 30% to 40% of water heating cost; even more with vacation homes and businesses. FORTIS electric tankless water heaters use electricity ONLY when the hot water is “turned on”. FORTIS water heaters are more than 99% efficient as virtually all of the heat created in the elements is radiated into the water.
Saves Water – When installed near the baths & kitchens, FORTIS can save thousands of gallons of water and is compatible with most recirculation systems.
Saves Resources – FORTIS tankless water heaters are smaller than traditional tank water heaters (are only 24” H x 12” W x 5” D), so fewer raw materials are used in the assembly and less energy is used in the manufacturing process. The projected life cycle is also twice that of traditional tank water heaters (20 years vs. 10 years), and given that they are 98% recyclable, there is virtually no impact on landfills.
Easy Installation – All that is typically needed is a #2 AWG copper cable to power the electric tankless, 120 AMP at 240V. No vent needed, or gas line required. Built-in breakers makes installation easier, reduces time and cost.

Industries’ Most Precise Hot Water Temperature Control
FORTIS’ advanced controller modulates the unit to produce an industry leading temperature consistency of +/- one degree! FORTIS is the only tankless water heater in the world that monitors FIVE essential data inputs in order to provide the most precise and steady water temperature possible. In addition to the basic three measures (incoming water temp, outgoing water temp & water flow rate), FORTIS also continuously monitors and adjusts power based on supplied voltage and electric current actually used by the heating elements. This is important as electrical power can vary by 10% or more through-out the day.
Advanced Controller
FORTIS’ easy-to-use, Precise Digital Temperature Controller has an output water temperature range of 90°F to 140°F. The menu options are easy to read and easy to set, right out of the box. However, for the techies, FORTIS’ data display options include real-time water flow rates, incoming & outgoing water temps, voltage, current flow and kilowatt hours of energy used. FORTIS’ Advanced Controller is designed for the future, which will allow easy interaction with evolving “Smart Metering” and Power Allocation” technologies.
USB and Serial Ports
FORTIS is the only water heater in the world with a USB port, allowing users to easily upgrade firmware, upgrade future functionality and download use and performance information. FORTIS also comes standard with three Serial Ports for accessories, e.g., an optional remote leak sensor and an automatic cut off valve should the remote sensor, or FORTIS ’ internal leak sensor detect a leak. The USB port also allows the easy installation and use of computer peripherals such as a ZigBee radio to connect to your Home Automation System.
