Our organization is dedicated to aiding Families dealing with Childhood Cancer.Alexs Butterfly Net is A Family-Trust Fund we provide temporary monetary relief to families with children undergoing treatment for child hood cancer. When the family’s support they truly need is not availed to them. We conduct research through a short Questioner to evaluate where their needs are and direct them to the appropriate resources to fill in the gaps for total family health and wellbeing. With the hopes that those that we have helped are able to get back on their feet and start their lives anew.

Since 2008 Alexs Butterfly Net has enriched the lives of children with Childhood Cancer through its support work. Our mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Childhood Cancer has on a Family both Emotionally and Financially.
Alexs Butterfly Net was founded in 2008 in Memory of Alexander A. Cheney who lost his fight against Brain Cancer in October 2005.
As Alexs Butterfly Net continues to mature, its mission will remain steadfast. To broaden the services we provide. It is truly our vision to help with every childhood illness, but unfortunately at this time we must limit our services to those families dealing with Childhood Cancer.

A Message from Our President

This Organization has been a dream of mine for 3 years, to feel as hopeless as we did, stuck in the hospital with bills piling up and needing, fuel, food and ocassionally lodging, our bills were neglected. It is my hope that through our minor contributions to families wether it be for Fuel, Phone Cards, Food Vouchers, helping with utility bills and simple necessities we hope to provide some relief.

HOW WE GRANT OUR SERVICES

Step 1: Referral
We rely on medical professionals, or parents themselves for referrals. Newborns to Children age 18 at the time of referral who have a basic need that cannot be met by family and friends in their current support system.

Step 2: Medical eligibility
We determine a child’s medical eligibility with the help of the treating physician. To receive our support, the child must be diagnosed with Childhood Cancer – i.e., a progressive, degenerative or malignant condition that has placed the child’s life in jeopardy and puts a financial strain on the family.
